Studio Makeover

I said I would do it....I reorganized my highly neglected studio! I basically rearranged it back to they way it was back in the spring and early summer...I liked it better that way anyway. but something has been added, my old trusty craft metal table (a gift from my mom 4 years ago) now housing mizz Trudy Elna, my business partner sewing machine! She seems content to now sit on a bigger table, now I should finally make her a cover or a sewing machine blankie to keep that pesky dust off of her!

I will never move this book case though, it's way too heavy, but I am housing my pyrex on there now, and my good ol' crafting books!

My minxden pillows back in their old spot in the corner of my studio where the ceiling comes down real low (old houses tend to have ceilings like that, which I love!) notice the tags along the wall? my mom made all of those, I thought it would be proper to hang them all in a row here!

A place for my house pillows I made! all with vintage fabrics too! they keep guard of Mizz Trudy Elna.

Of course, over the last few days I have been doing a "round two" of building up my vintage fabric stash! really found some great buys from a couple of etsy shops, I still have 6 other prints in transit to minxden!

Other wise, not much else has been happening...more snow is expected to fall tonight, temps are still polar cap cold! Sabrina is so fascinated with my studio facelift, I watch her sitting by my office chair looking up at me with those big orange eyes of hers. I will be crafting more tonight, another vintage fabric pillow will be making it's way into the minxden etsy shop, (hint, it's a sunny bright spring floral yellow and cream!) and working on more goodies to post in minxdenpartdeux! Have a great weekend y'all!

It looks so comfy and cozy! However did your sewing machine come by her name?

"Trudy" was the name of my first sewing machine, and one of my favorite old fashioned lady names...and "elna" is the actual brand name of my sewing machine, it's an elna 3210 home decor series, google it to see it in detail, and I added "mizz" like in Ms. Trudy Elna....that's how I came about the name....I firmly believe you respect and treat your machines well, and they work for you in return....(naming your machinery is a form of respect in my household...like my car's name is Buford the Buick and my hubby's truck is named Clyde the ford ranger...lol I am a dork i know! hope this answers your question Jennie!!!!

Oh, I love Trudy'd story :) Perhaps I should name my crochet hooks! We named our Christmas trees when I was growing up... that must rank up there in dorkiness.

thanks mom!!! you know it's never too late to learn! most of the stuff I sew is just by "eyeballing it" using no patterns, very easy stuff, mom, you could do it too! shoot, I hate patterns actually, if I could get by w/o using a pattern, I would do it in a heart beat!
