Sad Day...
Bad news....we lost one of the baby chicks that just hatched. Zoe was frantic! I heard her chirping so loud, it sounded like she was crying...then I saw it, one of her poor little ones had passed away in the nest...I took it out and promised Zoe I would give it a proper burial. So I buried it under one of the trees outside. We do have 2 healthy baby chicks, and 2 other eggs that have not hatched yet...But I was still very sad to lose one, especially because Zoe seems to be in despair right now....

Poor baby, that's so sad. Like any mum losing a baby.
Lauren: I am so sorry about your baby bird. I think you should do some research on the species of birds that you have. Sometimes, you have to separate the male from the babies once they are born. I don't know if that is the case with your birds but you may want to ask about it.
